At the church, we had pedestal arrangements, decorated pew ends and candles.
Outside - guests were greeted with a floral arch and flower heart on the lychgate (the heart later was placed on my grandparents grave). For the Confetti I had dried petals from my garden from my collection of David Austen Roses, Lavender and lots of different herbs.
Throughout the venue, we decorated areas with logs, willow and lots of candles with moss. Small milk bottles and jam jars filled the window sills and our ladder table plan.
I finally decided my chosen flowers just three weeks prior to the wedding - after making hundreds of wedding flowers for other weddings over the last fifteen years and seen lots of different ideas I couldn't decide - for me as a florist, flowers were such an important part of the day.
So overall a lot of flowers were used and not to mention five bridesmaids and lots of buttonholes and corsages - and flowers for hair! I was lucky to have help from my friends from the floristry industry to ensure that I still managed to get some sleep before the big day!

The colour scheme I had decided earlier on was to be pale pinks, ivories and greys. A must-have for me was peonies (not easy to obtain in February!). It comes as no surprise that my order list was long - I couldn't just choose a few, I love so many varieties of flowers! My final choice was:

I made my bouquet overall not too big. Using most of the flowers from my selection above, but including some special touches of Rosemary (my mother's name) and Myrtle (a traditional symbol of love).

My husband and I decided to get married at Holy Cross Church in Bignor, West Sussex with our reception held just down the road at the beautiful Bignor Park. We were extraordinarily lucky with the weather which was as warm as a summer's day - especially considering the venue was covered in snow when we visited it on the same day a year before!
